Mock Draft

Below will be a mock draft from PFN's simulator and I will drop explanations for each pick.

  • Pick 14- Jared Verse has been number one on my draft board since December. The defense is aging especially Cam Jordan. Saints have had their fair share of misses when it comes to drafting defensive linemen especially edge players, but I feel Verse is a 10+ year kind of player.

  • Pick 45- Saints need help on both sides of the trenches and drafting someone like Cooper Beebe gives you a starting Left Guard day one. He's been a consistent player all his years at Kansas State.

  • (TRADE!) Pick 103- Saints trade two of their comp picks a future 2025 pick to trade up and draft who they believe is their guy in Tulane's all time passing leader Michael Pratt. Assistant GM Jeff Ireland raved about Pratt at the Senior Bowl as well.

  • Pick 150- Saints could benefit from getting another Tight End. In this particular case they see one they like fall to pick 150 in Theo Johnson. Saints are avid fans of RAS scores and Johnson's RAS score is a perfect 10/10. He checks off all the boxes for the Saints at Tight End that they have been missing.

  • Pick 168- After a very disappointing season from Jamaal Williams, the Saints could use a running back like Isaac Guerendo who is the right balance of speed and power. He lit up the combine by running a 4.3 40 yard dash time.

  • Pick 190- a very tall DT who comes from Baylor's 3-4 style system. Think more on the lines of Arik Armstead.

  • Pick 199- with Michael Thomas gone, there's an opening for a big bodied possession Wide Receiver. Johnson fits the bill.

  • Pick 239- Mark Perry is a Dennis Allen kind of Safety. He can play multiple roles in the secondary. He can play in the box, can play as a true Strong Safety, and can even play Free Safety. The Saints have met with Perry on multiple occasions.

Epilogue

Many of the top names got left off of my Draft Guide, and the reason is I base my personal board on the Saints' personal draft position.

My board starts getting made at the start of the college football season all the way up the start of NFL Free Agency. I always have a blast making these draft guides for you the viewer.

Be sure to head on over to YouTube and search up any one of these players' highlights. While you're over there be sure you subscribe to my show Sports Étouffée.

Once again, thank you all for reading, and be sure to share the guide with all of your friends to show support! Happy viewing!
